The Simpsons

By Oriol Sentis

The Simpsons is an American cartoon series for television concerning the affairs of adult people. It was created by Matt Groening in 1989 and explains the daily life of an American middle-class family, whose members are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The series is a satire and criticism of American society.

The Simpsons takes place in the fictional American city of Springfield. It was the first television series produced by Fox and reached the 30 top series in the ratings.

Homer, the father, works as a safety inspector at the nuclear power plant in Springfield. He is married to Marge, a stereotypical American housewife with three children: Bart, 10 years old, Lisa, 8 years old, and Maggie, a baby.

The family owns a dog, Santa's Little Helper, and a cat, Snowball II. Both pets have been involved in one episode. The Simpsons do not age and they look the same as they did in the late 80's.

Bart Simpson's character is the protagonist in most of the episodes of the first three seasons, but then Homer takes his place.
